The club ho on crack who's in charge of TaylorMade's R & D/Strategic Operations seriously needs therapy. Releasing a new driver every fortnight is ridiculous. Let me guess Mr TaylorMade, this one's "faster & longer"?

h*rrison said: oh taylormade, what have you done? This looks like another attempt for Taylormade to say that they will add 30 yards to your drive

*clark53520 said: At this point, i would be driving the ball around 1300 yards...assuming i bought even half of the new drivers Taylormade has put out in the last year and added up all the added yardage i was guaranteed.

And don't get me started on when my spin rate is more than 1% off of optimum.

j*hnnymo said: So I am sure to get some flack for this......... but I think it looks pretty cool. I think they are also doing a SF 2.0 and I probably will get on a monitor with them just for fun. Two months ago I would not have believed that I am currently bagging a TM driver and 4w but I couldn't deny the results.

MCD*vis said: TM's just working the law of averages: produce 100 drivers a year, 1 of them has got to be good!

sh*p3470 said: Well it looks like it's working. The club isn't even out yet and people are taking about it. But I have a feeling more people will buy this club because of the white head than any results it produces - if it even produces any. Hell, I've seen guys at Golfsmith buy a driver or putter and not even hit it.

Who's genius idea was it to go white? That's super weak. R35 PS...alignment marks are over rated. If it's gone, do you hit the ball with the sole instead? :D

Guess change takes getting used to!!!! Not saying I would buy it but I can remember when driver heads went from small to big, bigger and huge and I held off for the longest time not to buy because I thought they looked just awful!!! I eventually made the change and got used to it. Time will tell on this one!!!!

x*milo said: I would bag the Cobra immediately if I could afford it! I think it really does look awesome, quite elegant and classy. The other good thing is no kymarks would be visible lol :D The Taylormade just sucks. The only way to make it uglier would be to add a neon fuscia glow in the dark alignment mark

sh*p3470 said: Quote: Originally Posted by xamilo I would bag the Cobra immediately if I could afford it! I think it really does look awesome, quite elegant and classy. "This exclusive product is ideal for the accomplished player who wants a collectible driver with Tour-caliber performance."

"This exclusive product is ideal for the accomplished player who wants a collectible driver with Tour-caliber performance." I will see your quote and raise you this one "ZL stands for Zero Limits. That’s the mindset Cobra engineers had when they set out to design the longest driver in their history. They pushed the boundaries of forgiveness and distance with multi-material construction" forgiveness and distance are generally associated with clubs for a pretty broad range of handicaps ;) and Xamilo I agree with you, it is a pretty sharp stick and I wouldn't mind one of those shafts they are putting in them for sure. john

W*lshGolfer said: I noticed earlier in the week that IJP was touting the Cobra ZL on his Twitter page. Personally I think painting a driver white is just as pointless as those Ghost putters and about as useful....but each to their own I suppose.

If what they said were true everyone would be hitting it right down the middle of the fairway 500+ yards out every single time. Yes clubs have different "feeling" and whatnot but it all eventually comes down to the person swinging the club.

sh*p3470 said: And it is funny how my quote came out of the same press release by Cobra.

Th*TrueReview said: Quote: Originally Posted by WelshGolfer .... Personally I think painting a driver white is .... pointless ....... Yep, it's a marketing gimmick. IMO, in a year's time, those who've bought white clubs won't be able to give them away. Quote: Originally Posted by shep3470 It's amazing what people say these clubs will do. Precisely. The "longer, deeper, harder, faster" stuff is just b.s. I've said it in other threads but by way of example, Lee Westwood is one of the biggest bombers on tour and he plays a superseded G10 driver. Michael Sim is a Titleist player but he won't give up his Tittie 905R driver & it's now 3 models old.

I do like the way it looks, and i find it to be "different", in a good way. Anyway, I game a Dymo2, described by LyleG as the "ugly girl in the party", so I have the right to dream about dating the cheerleader!

But hey, if the "ugly girl" leaves you satisfied, all the power to ya!! And did I read correctly that they are only going to make 500 of these?
